Floyd Dixon
Floyd Dixon prefers to approach life as simply as possible. The “living legend” title that’s irrevocably attached to his name is not something that affects him. His considerable legacy notwithstanding, he lives in the moment and it is that trademark quality that informs Fine! Fine! Thing, his new album on Los Angeles based independent label, HighJohn Records. (more...)
Johnny Tucker
Johnny Tucker is the tenth child born of nineteen siblings to a seasonal sharecropper and his wife. His interest in music began when he would sit on the porch and hear his father play the guitar for his mother. (more...)
James West & Drowning Sound
Drowning Sound released their debut Sea of Emotions CD on Highjohn Records in 2003. The band is made up of guitarist and lead vocalist James West, bass guitar player George Williamson, and drummer Ryan O'Connor. (more...)
Greg Weins
Greg Weins lives in a world that's much like yours in most ways, with one distinct difference: In Greg's world, the light of day barely gets past the blindness he has lived with since June 15th, 1973. That day, in Long Beach California, his parents were informed by their doctor that Greg had been born with a permanently damaged optical nerve. (more...)
Joe Campbell
Joe Campbell has recorded with Ray Charles, Whispers, Shalamar, Denise Williams, Bobby Womack and Switch. He also has performed with Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Lowell Fulson, Johnny Taylor, Little Milton and Phillip Walker. (more...)
Norman Merten
Norman Merten is an LA based guitarist in the rock & R&B genre. He has performed with many artists including Vanessa Williams, Howard Hewwett, Jay Leno and the Tonight Show, The Arsenio Hall Show, Miki Howard, The Boys, Phillip Bailey and The Bernie Mac Show to name a few. (more...)

Reviews
“I’m not a nominator for the BMA awards, but if I was, this is the record of the year.”
Blues Bytes Pick Hit --Kyle Deibler
“Time Brings About a Change…A Floyd Dixon Celebration is certainly that. A celebration of a wonderful man and pianist who over the years graced us with his presence and his amazing interpretation of the blues.”
Blues Bytes Pick Hit --Kyle Deibler
“This is a record that 20 years from now will still stand the test of time and it’s a wonderful tribute to Floyd Dixon.”

“This is an old fashioned blues review with everyone bringing their “A” game…”
Bad Dog Blues Website --Jeff Harris
“West coast soul singer John Tucker gets the party started with the high octane, gritty soul of “Do You Wanna Dance” sounding like a modern day Otis Redding.”
Blues Bytes Pick Hit --Kyle Deibler
“You simply couldn’t ask for a more fitting tribute to Dixon’s memory than “Time Brings About A Change—A Floyd Dixon Celebration” which finds a true blues legend going out in top form.”

“It just happens to be one of those discs that seems to find a CD player where ever I am. I like it a lot and will be giving it plenty of air time.”
--Algis Jonusas, Blues Program Director at WRHC, Michigan
“The disc is a jump blues heaven with all those great musicians paying respect to their music…If this will not be “the blues CD of the year” I don’t know any other album that deserves the title more.”
--Przemek Draheim, Radio Sfera, Poland
“I couldn’t help to find myself watery-eyed at the last selection, “So Long”. It takes a hell of a man to say a final goodbye like that.”
--Walter Upchurch, Foundation for the Preservation of 40’s -60’s Dance Music

Triple R Blues&Roots Radio --Ton Wanten
I had a chance to see Floyd in San Diego at a festival. I really liked his performance. Fine, fine thing is indeed a fine, fine cd. I am looking forward to seeing Floyd live in performance again…

Greetings from Blues Summit on WMWV in Conway, NH. I have played Floyd on the show on many occasions in the past. In particular, the 1996 "Wake Up and Live!" on Alligator. I debuted "Fine! Fine! Thing!" on the show last night. We will have fun with it. Question: Will Floyd be doing phone interviews? Love to have him on.
